May Employee Spotlight- Shelly Hoffman

Shelly Hoffman Has Created a Beautiful Quilt
Of A Balanced Life with Work, Family and Faith

Shelly Hoffman, currently a deputy district clerk in the 363rd Judicial District Court, moved to Dallas more than a decade ago with her parents from Southern California, where she grew up with her brother and sister.

She first worked in Dallas County Institute of Forensic Sciences as an evidence registrar, but wanted more of a community of colleagues. She found an opening as a deputy district clerk in the criminal section of the District Clerk’s office and has served there since.

“Shelly is always friendly and supportive, but also very professional,” says Tina Cooper, Criminal Courts Supervisor. “She is tremendous asset to our department and consistently illustrates that through her personal performance.”

Shelly says the best part of her job is quietly helping people each day and touching their lives in a small but important way.

Away from the courthouse, Shelly enjoys the changes in seasons here in North Texas, even though she misses California’s beaches. While still living in California, Shelly took a course in quilting and has spent more time recently pursuing what has become a passion.

A member of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Shelly has met people from all across the US, including numerous Californians. “I really enjoy the fellowship I have at church and at work,” says Shelly, who is a welcome addition to North Texas and to the Dallas County District Clerk’s office.

  2. Congrats Shelly,
It's a real pleasure to see you everytime I visit the 363rd. Along with being most polite, you are very professional and an execellent peer model to the other employees of the District Clerks Office. You are most deserving of this recognition. Once again, congradulations from one of the many Defense Attorney's who appreciate your service. It does not go unnoticed.
