Assistant DA Praises Deputy Denise Mailey's Professional Expertise

I just wanted to apprize you of an incident involving one of your staff members, Denise Mailey. I was directed to your office in my attempt to accomplish an urgent task, namely activation of a warrant on a domestic violence case. Ms. Mailey's willingness to assist and depth of knowledge so impressed me that I wanted to bring her performance to your attention.
We had a Protective Order (PO) hearing scheduled last week, and the person whom we were requesting the PO against had an active warrant for his arrest. The felony prosecutor on the criminal case had gotten the defendant's bond held insufficient and asked that I get this guy arrested when he appeared for his PO hrg.
Since the case was preindictment, accomplishing this task proved to be quite an obstacle course for me. I initially spoke with a number of persons whom I believed could direct me accordingly, since the warrant for insufficient bond had not been entered on the warrant screen. After speaking with persons at the bond desk and warrant execution department, I still did not have clear instructions on how to get the warrant activated; so this guy could get arrested. I then went to the criminal court where the felony was pending. The clerk there was very accommodating, made me a copy of the related documents, and directed me back to the warrant desk to get the information entered on the warrant screen. Again, the warrant desk was not able to enter the warrant because they had no document.
I was then given your name as the go-to-person for resolution of this issue. I walked up to the window, gave the reader's digest version of my dilemma, and reiterated the urgency of getting this warrant activated. Ms. Mailey immediately ended her phone conversation and gave me her full attention. She readily comprehended the nature of the problem, the solution I was requesting, and the method necessary to resolve the issue. What had taken me over an hour to accomplish was perfected in less than 10 minutes with Ms. Mailey's help.
I commend Ms. Mailey for her professionalism, job knowledge, and attentiveness to an otherwise unrelated task outside of her immediate duties. Good training is often reflected in job performance, and Ms. Mailey appears to be a product of that. I appreciated her initiative and applaud her for her efficiency and eagerness to assist. Her initiative demonstrated a strong work ethic and respect for herself and her postion.

  1. Kudos to Ms. Mailey. I have also worked with her in the past, as well as the present, let me just say she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her knowledge and willingness to help surpasses everyone. She has a genuine serenity, caring and an eagerness to keep striving for more. Always doing the best job she can. One cannot argue this field of work is very stressful and Denise Mailey always carried herself with dignity and confidence. She is truly a huge assent.

I would also like to thank Carla Bean for taking the time to write of her appreciation of Denise. There are so many times, folks forget when you do good but they sure do remember the mistakes. 3. I feel recognition should be given to all the clerks who step outside their job duties. It is so nice that Ms Bean took the time to write such a great letter. My training and leadership abilities are a refleciton of the trainers(Cynthia Bailey, Deniece Hughes) and my supervisor(Tina Cooper). I am a true leader and enjoy my job with the District Clerks Office.

    Thank You
