CHRISTMAS IN JULY TOY DRIVE BENEFITS BUCKNER CHILDREN’S HOME

Posted By: Marsha Bills

The Benevolence Committee is once again holding a toy drive throughout July, gathering toys for children aged one through 16 at Buckner’s Children’s Home.
“Since there are so many charitable appeals around the holidays, and parents haven’t yet incurred their back-to-school expenses with their own children, we think July is an ideal time to hold our drive for toys to be given at Christmas,” says Felicia Pitre, Benevolence Chair.

District Clerk employees are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys for boys and girls, from toddlers to teens, and deposit them in large boxes decorated by committee members Carol Langley, Bo Jackson and Dondra Gray, pictured, as well as others. The boxes are located in the Henry Wade building, and in Frank Crowley on the second floor by Bo Jackson’s office as well as on the fifth floor by Tina Cooper’s office. In George Allen, boxes will be placed by Records, at the File Desk and in each pod in the civil and tax section.

“We hope employees will generously participate so these children without families will know that they are in hearts of the community,” adds Felicia.
