DALLAS CITY COUNCIL MEMBER VONCIEL JONES HILL
DISCOVERED E-FILING IN THE NICK OF TIME
It was a last-minute time crunch and the dread of driving downtown on rain-soaked streets that led Dallas City Council Member Vonciel Jones Hill to become a first-time Texasonline E-filer on a cold afternoon this past December.
"I was rushing to meet a deadline to file a case in a Civil District Court, I was in my office in South Oak Cliff, and the rain was beginning to turn to sleet. Time and weather were not on my side for driving downtown in time to file a suit at the Clerk's office," says Ms. Jones Hill.
"I had frequently used the US District Clerk's e-filing system and was hoping that the District Clerk had one as well. I simply went to Dallas County's website, then to the District Clerk's home page and found a link to prompt me through the state's e-filing system, which was an enormous relief," adds Ms. Jones Hill. "From that point, the step-by-step process was easier as a first-time filer than the Federal system."
Ms. Jones Hill, who represents District 5 on the Dallas City Council, is an attorney with an active practice, so she has a very hectic schedule. "I appreciate and use every process I can find to help me work more efficiently, so I am very pleased to be using Texasonline."
