June Supervisor Spotlight- George Vent

TRUST SUPERVISOR GEORGE VENT
BALANCES BOOKS AND ANGLES FOR BASS

When George Vent is not working in his capacity as Dallas County District Clerk Trust Supervisor, he is spending time with his wife and toddler son, George, or is out on the lakes of Texas and surrounding states fishing for bass.

“It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the big blue skies and lakes,” says George, who frequently enters tournaments. A resident of Rockwall, he visits nearby Lake Ray Hubbard as often as possible.

At work, George oversees the Registry of the Court, where funds are deposited for bonds in civil cases, and ensures that the District Clerk’s management of trust funds established by civil and family court orders complies with Texas’ state laws. “It’s important to many people, especially children as they become adults, that we have been responsible stewards of the money that was set aside for their futures,” says George. “So I feel a special obligation to work every day to serve our customers who rely on our professionalism and integrity.”

A native of Arkansas, George began working as an auditor for Dallas County and came to District Clerk’s office as Trust Supervisor eight years ago. He’s been an integral part of the Trust and Accounting team as it implements major changes initiated by District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons and Trust and Accounting Manager Leonard Blackwell.
