302nd Is Set to Become First Completely Paperless Court In Dallas County

Posted By: Marsha Bills

Dallas County’s landmark paperless court pilot project in the 302nd District Court is nearing completion. Each year the District Clerk’s office accepts and processes thousands of cases creating an enormous amount of paperwork and files to be stored. However, with the hard work of the deputy clerks in the 302nd, like Jeremy Cooke shown removing files, that court will soon be Dallas County’s first completely digital court.

Currently, all new cases filed with the 302nd are immediately scanned and entered into the District Clerk’s digital case management system. The last few pending paper case jackets and files are being scanned and removed permanently from the court.

With the 302nd’s successful transition to the all-digital case management system, the digital system is now being rolled-out to all of the Civil District Courts. Eventually, all documents filed with the Dallas County District Clerks office will be stored and processed electronically, expediting the case filing process and saving valuable resources. The 302nd District Court truly represents the future of the Dallas County court system.
