Harold Denney Guides Imaging Project As It Moves Toward 1.5 Million-Document Mark

Posted By: Marsha Bills

In the basement of the George Allen Courts Building, Harold Denney’s team of ten clerks shares a small cramped room with 11 computers and about 1,000 documents each day.

Their goal is to advance the paperless concept throughout the court house, which will take many more resources dedicated to this enormous undertaking. But the project will eventually bring great efficiencies to the courts, save taxpayers money by reducing the need for storage, and provide a much higher level of customer service by making records available much more quickly.

Already, some benefits are coming to fruition. Today, if customers want to view divorce documents that have been scanned in the past few years, those documents – not just the docket – are immediately available on the Records department computers. In the future, documents will be available to other groups off-site as well.

When not working, Harold enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren in the Houston area where he visits frequently to attend their sports events and other activities. Harold’s and his wife’s love of music ranges from classical to popular, and they attend local concerts and performances as often as possible.
