Deputy Carolyn Griffith spent years preparing thousands of checks from the District Clerk on a typewriter. With the volume of work that entails, it’s hard to imagine how Carolyn has for 15 years performed her job every day with the highest degree of professionalism and has been unfailingly pleasant to every customer she encountered in person or by phone.
With the successful implementation of a new check-writing system, Carolyn’s job has been made easier and service to customers has improved dramatically. Work that once took Carolyn and her colleagues from two to three hours to complete can now be accomplished in only 30 minutes.
Carolyn has embraced the new check-writing and processing procedures that enable electronic checks to be transmitted directly to the Auditor and the Treasurer for processing without paper ever being generated until the final step. “I have a greater level of satisfaction because I can complete my work more efficiently with the new technology and processes put in place,” adds Carolyn.
She has also enthusiastically welcomed other major changes over the past two years and has been eager to learn every new process and procedure.
Her sense of duty and dedication is also reflected in her record: In the 15 years Carolyn has worked for the District Clerk Office, she has only used a total of 86 hours of sick leave averaging less than six hours each year, completing this year with almost perfect attendance.
She is an exemplary deputy who anticipates objectives and finds ways to complete them without supervision. Thanks to her knowledge, attitude and energy, she continues to be an invaluable part of the team in Trust and an inspiration to her colleagues.
