PASSPORTS EAST GETS BENEFIT OF JEFFIE SWANSON’S
EXPERIENCE AFTER SHE RETIRED FROM DALLAS COUNTY COURTS
Jeffie Swanson may be a new face in the Passports East division, but she is not new to service in Dallas County. Jeffie, who began service in 1977 in a Dallas County probate court, moved to the position of chief clerk in County Criminal Court # 6, where she later became coordinator.
After serving Dallas County and its court system for almost 30 years, in 2004, Jeffie was recognized for her work by the Court Manager’s Office, an honor she treasures.
She has applied the same high standards of service in her new part-time position at the District Clerk’s Passports East office in the East Dallas Government Center, which is one of the busiest passport process centers in the County, with a constantly growing and increasingly diverse customer service base to serve.
“I have found in my many years in different work situations, that if I greet each customer with a smile and respect, I usually get that in return,” says Jeffie. “That’s the basis of good customer service.”
A native of Dangerfield, Texas, Jeffie tries to visit her parents there as often as possible. After attending Tyler Junior College, Jeffie moved to Dallas to begin her career in public service. A member of Warren United Methodist Church, Jeffie is active in the choir and in United Methodist Women. The mother of Ebony and Ray Swanson, she is also the grandmother of Keiara Gree
