December Supervisor Spotlight - Mike Lindley

Posted By: Marsha Bills

During his ten years serving within the District Clerk’s office, Passports Supervisor Mike Lindley has managed staff that has helped thousands of people travel to their chosen destinations. He has seen the profile of the average passport applicant change from those whose needs were centered on business and tourism in Europe to those whose travel is more family-related, as a result of new legislation affecting travel to and from Mexico and Canada.

In response to this change in customer profile, the Passports office has achieved its goal of providing bi-lingual capabilities at all three of its offices. Although the offices are processing a greater number of applications, Mike says his staff is providing better service to the customer through applying valuable lessons learned over the years.

Prior to joining the District Clerk’s office, Mike, a Dallas native, had a 25-year career in advertising and public relations and has applied this training to produce two books. One is a memoir based on more than 400 love letters from his bomber-pilot father to his mother written during the early days of World War II. The other is a novel of contemporary fiction currently being considered for representation by literary agents in New York and California.
