March Supervisor Spotlight - Danitra Wilkerson

Posted By: Marsha Bills

DANITRA WILKERSON BRINGS ENORMOUS ENERGY AND POSITIVE ATTITUDE TO JOB AS FAMILY COURTS SUPERVISOR

When District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons took office, Danitra Wilkerson was already established as the highly respected supervisor of the Criminal Support division, where she oversaw a wide range of activities to support Criminal operations with a superbly trained and managed staff.

After the position of Family Courts Supervisor became available, it was apparent that a very strong leader was needed to reorganize clerks in those courts into a cohesive team with high morale. Danitra Wilkerson was the obvious choice for that difficult assignment, which she has taken on with her characteristic boundless energy and unfailing positive outlook.

In just 11 years with Dallas County, Danitra has risen from a file clerk and e-filing clerk to Documents Production Supervisor and then to her current position, showing willingness to learn new procedures and embrace new technology and policies in each position.

As Supervisor of Family and IV-D courts, she has faced the daunting challenge of being understaffed and facing the ever-growing backlog that situation produced. As a result of the constant struggle, morale was low among staff until Danitra took the reins and showed by example what hard work, determination and loyalty can achieve.

Danitra’s familiarity with e-filing procedures has been valuable to her as she guides Family Court clerks through the process of converting to paperless courts, with all documents digitized for efficient case and records management.

Married to her husband Freddie for 14 years, she is the mother of Ladarius, 11, and Alexis, 10, with whom she is a member of The Potter’s House.
